Electric Shower
These provide hot water directly from the unit itself, so if your boiler ever breaks down, you can still have a hot shower.
Electric showers are most commonly installed when you have a tank & cylinder system installed in your house. This is because of the low water water pressure that this system provides, although you can install a shower boost pump to increase the water pressure. Electric showers also provide back up hot water if your boiler ever breaks down as the electric shower itself heats the water up, rather than relying on a boiler or cylinder to provide hot water. Install costs start from £80.
Exposed Bar Mixer Shower
A great shower....cheap to buy, easy to install and provides a powerful shower.
The most common type of shower that we install. An exposed bar mixer shower gets its hot water feed from a boiler or cylinder. They usually have one rainwater head via a riser rail kit. The main advantage to an exposed shower valve is they provide got water pressure (this will be dependant on your cold water main supply), they are reletively cheap to buy and are easy to install as the pipe work connections are surface mounted. The downside is, if ever your boiler breaks down then you cannot get any hot water from the shower. Install costs start from £80.
Concealed Mixer Shower
Allows you to run multiple shower outlets for all your showering needs.
Concealed mixer showers are showers that the body is concealed within the wall and you only have the controls exposed. The main advantage with a concealed mixer shower is, you can run multiple outlets from them. This means you have a big drench head coming out the wall or ceiling & a riser rail kit attached as well. Like the exposed mixer shower the downside is, if ever your boiler breaks down then you cannot get any hot water from the shower. Maintenance on these showers can be quite tricky as the valve itself is concealed in the wall. Install costs start from £120.
