What Is An Air Conditioning Split System?

An air conditioning split system is a type of cooling (and often heating) system made up of two main parts:

Indoor unit – mounted on a wall or ceiling, it blows cool (or warm) air into the room
Outdoor unit – sits outside and releases the heat extracted from inside

These two units are connected by pipes and electrical cables, which is why it’s called a “split” system.

How It Works (Simple Explanation)
1- The indoor unit pulls in warm air from the room
2- It uses refrigerant to absorb the heat
3- The heat is sent through pipes to the outdoor unit
4- The outdoor unit releases the heat outside
5- Cool air is then circulated back into the room
